Our Body Is a Sponge

I have been blessed with helping people heal their body, mind, spirit and heart for almost 30 years.  I have had clients come for assistance with too many challenges to list.  I have shared with them that the Dis-Ease in our lives contributes to the Disease in our bodies.  I have shared with them that our bodies are like a sponge.  Imagine a sponge on your kitchen sink.  You wipe the counters, absorbing “stuff”.  Then you wring it out.  Think of our lives.  Think of all the “stuff” we go though in life.  Think of how this “stuff” causes tension in our bodies and stress in our lives.  Think of the tissues in your body like a giant piece of Saran Wrap.  Take a look at the tissues on your arm, how it goes up to your shoulder, then your chest or back.  Where does it begin and where does it end?  Now remember all the times something upset you.  Your kids stress you out, you get into an argument with your partner, your boss pisses you off, someone cuts in front of you while driving, bills need to be paid, errands need to be completed, and then you turn on the news.  (These are only a few examples).

Where do all these stress factors end up in our bodies? Think of the Saran Wrap crinkling.  Every stress situation makes the wrap crinkle a little more each time. Then the stomach upset may happen or the migraine, or the pains.  Maybe anxiety and depression shows up.  Whatever the Dis-Ease in your life is creating in your body, you have the ability to wring out your sponge.

Take a moment and feel where the Dis-Ease is in your body.  Can you sit with it for a few moments? Can you really feel it?  Put your hand there.  Talk to your body.  Let it know it is causing you pain or discomfort.  Is there a memory in there that no longer serves you?  Give thanks to the area that is causing you discomfort.  Breath into it again. Allow yourself to dialog with it.  Most important, allow your voice to be heard.  Speak your truth about what you are holding onto. Then let it know you no longer choose to hold on to it.  Give it permission to release.  Watch the “crinkles” of the stress and tension smooth out.  Watch your body start to relax.  Keep breathing.

Connecting with your inner self and acknowledging where your pain comes from is a great beginning to releasing what no longer serves you.  If you need help connecting with your body, please reach out.  I would love to help your body, mind, spirit and heart heal. I would love to help you wring out your sponge.

MAY YOUR BODY ALWAYS EXPERIENCE PEACE.
